1. What kinds of wood can I use with this stove?

Only dry, seasoned wood should be used. Green, wet, or treated wood should be avoided, as it burns inefficiently and produces excessive smoke.

2. How long does it take to heat up a sauna space?

Heating time depends on insulation, wood quality, and sauna space size. Using dry wood and proper insulation, the stove can typically bring the space to the desired sauna temperature within 30–90 minutes.

3. Can this stove be used for cooking?

Yes. The stove can be used as a wood-burning heater or cooking stove.

When the stone basket and water drip tray are removed, the stove functions as a standard wood-burning stove for warmth or cooking.

4. Is a sauna thermometer necessary?

It is recommended to use a separate sauna thermometer or hygrometer to accurately monitor temperature and humidity for both safety and comfort.

Note: Winnerwell does not currently sell sauna thermometers, so these must be purchased separately.

5. How should sauna stones be placed?

Sauna stones can be placed in the stone basket or directly on the stove top using the water drip tray.

In the stone basket, stones allow airflow around them to maximize heat retention and steam generation.

On the stove top, stones should be placed in the water tray to safely hold water for steam use.

Only use approved sauna stones to prevent cracking or hazards.

6. How should the fire be extinguished?

Allow the fire to burn down gradually before leaving the stove unattended.

Do not pour water directly onto the hot stove, as this can cause severe deformation or permanent damage to the stove components.

7. Can the stove be used outside of a sauna?

Yes. By removing the stone basket and water tray, the stove can serve as a wood-burning heater or cooking stove for outdoor use. It is suitable for year-round use, including warmth or cooking during camping or other outdoor activities.
